What is your role at bClear?

As Senior Account Manager I work across several clients, interacting with their internal marketing teams to progress their PR strategies. This includes drafting press releases, comments and articles as well as liaising with the press to ensure that we are coming up with new ideas and securing the very best coverage to get our clients’ names in front of the right people.

What is your background and experience?

I’ve always loved writing, so I studied English Literature and Creative Writing at Royal Holloway, University of London for my undergraduate degree and later returned to do a master’s in Victorian Literature, Art and Culture. I then got into the world of PR and spent just over seven years with an agency that specialised in PR and marketing for the built environment, working for a wide variety of clients in the construction sector and beyond.

What inspires you?

I’m inspired by my family – I always want to do them proud. I’m also terrified of letting anyone down which can be unhelpful; but I think that drive is what keeps me conscientious.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I really enjoy the variety. Every day you’re working on a different set of projects, and your priorities can change on the spur of the moment, so you have to be on your toes. I also love writing content for clients – sitting down quietly and typing away to create something new.

What do you like to do when you’re not at bClear?

I like to read as much as I can – everything from classics to true crime – and enjoy crafting, going for walks and visiting National Trust properties and museums. Over the next few months, I’ll be spending a lot of my spare time with my fiancé getting our new house in order and exploring Bristol and the surrounding area, as we’ve just relocated from Surrey!

What does this photo mean to you?

I started dancing when I was three years’ old and kept it up until I went to university. Every other year my dance school would put on some shows for the parents, and I would absolutely love getting into costume and performing on stage where all I could see were the blinding stage lights and the vague outline of an audience. Unfortunately, when I moved away for university, I struggled to find a new school or society that would work for me and stopped dancing completely.

In this photo I had just got back onto a stage for the first time in more than 12 years. I’d found an amazing dance school where I lived at the time in Woking and they put on bi-annual shows just like my old childhood school. I’d just finished the first of four shows in a real theatre in front of over 200 people including my best friends and family. It brought back so many memories of dancing as a child and dreams of being a performer in the West End. I got to wear a tutu for the first time and perform a ballet dance to The Nutcracker; but tapping to Anything Goes dressed as a sailor – a real crowd pleaser – was the highlight!
