Ashley Robertson – PR account manager

What is your role at bClear?

As a PR account manager, I work with all members of the bClear team to make sure we’re delivering for our clients and meeting their objectives. Day-to-day, that could be drafting press releases, comments or articles. It could also be speaking with relevant editors or publications to share the latest news or views. A busy PR agency is a great place to work, especially in an exciting and varied role like mine!

What is your background and experience?

I studied Journalism at the University of Gloucestershire, experiencing all disciplines including broadcast, print, radio and online. Some valuable work experience followed which opened my eyes to PR and I haven’t looked back! Since then, I’ve worked both in-house and within agencies. My experience has been pretty varied, working with B2B and B2C clients across the automotive, fenestration and construction sectors.

What inspires you?

Good communication. Great music. A fresh approach or ingenious way to solve a problem or challenge. Hard work and dedication. Those that choose the path less travelled and those that turn their passion into their business!

What do you enjoy most about your role?

The ability to help businesses share their story. It sounds cheesy but it’s true! Businesses are rightly caught-up in the day-to-day. The ability for our team to bring a fresh set of eyes and spot a story that tells the world what they can offer and what they have achieved is hugely rewarding. The ability to learn new things from both clients and colleagues cannot be forgotten too.

What do you like to do when you’re not at bClear?

One of my biggest hobbies is skittles! I captain a team and play for another in the local area. I also run my own YouTube channel which has over 4,000 subscribers and more than 2.5 million total views!

I’m a big fan of music and live concerts – more Springsteen and Eagles than today’s choice! I like my sport, whether it’s cheering on Liverpool, the Dallas Cowboys or watching F1. So, as you’d expect I also love cars, bikes and basically anything motorised! I like to travel when I can and spend time with family, friends and my wonderful nieces.

What does this photo mean to you?

This was Santa Monica Pier in California at the end of a 3,000-mile road trip across America on Route 66. It was an ambition I shared with my Mum and something we were able to accomplish with my brother in 2022. It was the trip of a lifetime experiencing the fantastic landscapes, people and cultures of nine amazing states. Exploring the ‘mother road’ is a must for anyone!
