We have donated £6,000 to great causes from this year’s Charity Fund. After a record-breaking number of applications, twelve successful charities have received £500 each.

At bClear, our commitment to social responsibility and community engagement has been ingrained in our ethos since we launched 18 years ago.

In 2021 we formally launched the bClear Charity Fund with the aim of helping charities get back on their feet after a challenging time during the pandemic. By giving 5% of our profits to charity each year, we aim to empower community projects and charities that strive to make a difference in the lives of individuals and the local community.

2022 update

Last year’s fund helped eight charities to further support their great causes and carry on with their vital work.

Bibic provides holistic assessments and bespoke support for families of children with neurological, behavioural and developmental challenges and disabilities. They reported back on how our donation helped the families they support – “Having these funds has allowed us to partially fund the cost of a full two-day assessment for one family. We are incredibly grateful to everyone at the bClear for your support. Due to the support of Trusts, such as the bClear Communications Charitable Trust we are reaching and supporting more families than ever before.”

David Young, from Clevedon Men’s Shed, a charity helping men overcome loneliness, has said the grant has helped them rebuild their space following an arson attack. “We previously had a decking with bench seating for 15 of our Shedders, which got totally destroyed [by the fire]. We built the new decking and bClear’s donation enabled us to build extra benches to seat 25 and add some coffee tables to finish the project off nicely.”

 2023

After two successful years, this year’s response surpassed all expectations, highlighting organisations’ need and determination to bring about positive change.

The team carefully reviewed each application and worthy cause that applied. We can now announce that 2023’s twelve successful charities that will benefit from this year’s fund are:

We are delighted to be able to support so many great charities that make a real difference in people’s lives. Each organisation received a £500 grant to enable them to amplify their efforts, expand their reach, and provide much-needed support to those they help.

One of the vital causes we are proud to support is Vine Counselling, a Congresbury based 1-1 face-to-face counselling service for both adults and children. They will be using the grant to continue making consultations more affordable and recruit additional volunteer counsellors to help reach as many people in need as possible. They will also take on volunteer student counsellors and train and supervise them.

In addition to our Charity Fund, we have donated £500 to help a local school in Yatton, after a devastating fire burnt down their infant school building. Our donation, combined with the incredible generosity of others, has enabled the school to exceed its initial fundraising goal. The money will contribute to the school’s recovery efforts, helping them rebuild and restore its facilities, ensuring that students can continue to receive their education in a safe environment.

Thank you to all that applied for this year’s Charity Fund. We will launch 2024’s Charity Fund early next year so look out for details on social media.
