Suzanne Savill – Senior account manager

What is your role at bClear?

Consistently delivering excellent service for our clients, and ensuring that their businesses and key messages receive good coverage in the media. This involves writing articles, press releases, comments, marketing material and award entries, and also liaising with journalists about interviews.

What is your background and experience?

I originally trained as a journalist, and then moved into PR. During my career in journalism I worked as a news reporter and as a feature writer on the staff of national and regional newspapers, and also for a B2B magazine. As a PR I have managed accounts in agency and in-house roles. Prior to joining bClear I was a member of the in-house PR team at Colliers, the international commercial property consultancy.

What inspires you?

Quality outcomes. Whether it is seeing an article written for a client getting a great show, or having a press release achieve extensive coverage, I enjoy achieving tangible results of a high standard.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

Happy clients. Knowing that you’ve delivered on expectations – or better still exceeded them – is always a great feeling.

What do you like to do when you’re not at bClear?

I live in the coastal town of Clevedon, and usually swim in Clevedon Marine Lake or in the sea at least once a week. Although it isn’t possible to stay in for too long in winter when the water is around five degrees, every minute is worth it for the sense of exhilaration.

What does this photo mean to you?

This was taken on New Year’s Day 2022. It was about 8am, and the water temperature was about six degrees, and I was raising money for the charity Mental Health Swims, which does brilliant work supporting and empowering people to discover the benefits of open water and cold water swimming.

The swimwear company Speedo had pledged to donate £10 for every person who swam on New Year’s Day and posted a photo of themselves with the hashtag #newyearswimmers. I’m proud that I helped contribute to an impressive final donation of £37,000.
