Thomas Hale – Account executive

What is your role at bClear?

As an Account Executive my days are always different and exciting. I could be managing client relationships, coordinating campaigns, strategizing ways to drive results and meet objectives, or simply helping the rest of the team in any way necessary.

What is your background and experience?

I studied English Literature at the University of Exeter at undergraduate level and masters focusing on American modernism, gaining both an in-depth knowledge and a genuine passion for the profound way that stories shape people’s lives.

During my studies I began working part-time and freelance as a journalist for a couple of online publications, continuing my love for storytelling. I then began working as a PR & Communications Assistant in the automotive industry, where I quickly learned that I could harness my love for stories and interest in people in a role that would continually spark my interest.

What inspires you?

First and foremost, people. I am both inspired and fascinated by the many intricacies of peoples lives, what makes us tick, what makes us human, what makes us love, hate, dream… I could go on.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I love that every day is different, bringing new challenges and tasks. It’s also always rewarding to see measurable results through tracking and reports as I am always keen to learn and improve.

I also thoroughly enjoy being part of the team, working with experts in the field to achieve great things wherever possible is always exciting and leaves me wanting more.

What do you like to do when you’re not at bClear?

When I’m not at bClear you’ll find me doing one of three things: exercising, reading, or spending time with loved ones.

In terms of exercise, I am currently training for my first triathlon this summer, which takes up a lot of my spare time, and following this hope to run my first half marathon in the winter followed by the London to Paris cycle ride next year.

When it comes to reading, I love a wide range of books, however, my interests always seem to lead me back to 20th century America, with writers like Ernest Hemingway, Cormac McCarthy, and Kurt Vonnegut. Above all else I love how books depict not just the characters within them but also the characters that wrote them.

And lastly, spending time with loved ones. I always cherish the little moments that quickly become memories of time spent with the people closest to me. These are always incredibly special to me.

What does this photo mean to you?

This photo was taken some 20-metres down off the coast of the Philippines. It means a lot to me because it proves to myself that I can achieve things I often think I can’t. It also reminds me how beautiful the world can be and fills me with the desire to explore more and more!
