The challenge:

When Just Mortgages needed to raise its profile in 2015 they spoke to bClear. Their goal was to become known as a key mortgage and protection broker.

Our challenge was to alter the perception of Just Mortgages in order to attract mortgage advisers to join, to increase the number of advisers initially from 115 to 140.  We were also to promote the launch of a division for self-employed mortgage and protection advisers.

A key part of the campaign was to raise the profile of Just Mortgages among our journalist network so they came to Just Mortgages for industry comments.

The results:

In the first year alone bClear generated 872 pieces of coverage for Just Mortgages across print and online media as well as email alerts and social media mentions. Over the succeeding five years we have generated 6,255 pieces of coverage.

Just Mortgages increased its number of brokers to 160 by the end of 2016, exceeding its target by 20. At the same time, staff retention increased dramatically. They put a significant amount of this down to the raised awareness of the brand due to bClear’s PR strategy and delivery.

Six months after bClear and Just Mortgages started working together, in one month alone, Just Mortgages received 1,115 spontaneous CVs from brokers wishing to join the company.

Prior to appointing bClear, Just Mortgages spent £70,000 on recruitment fees, but thanks to both on and offline PR, its spend reduced to just £4,000 on recruiting advisers in the following year.

We have continued to work together in the same way and Just Mortgages now has in excess of 500 mortgage brokers, having achieved some of the most impressive growth in the mortgage market and some of the most extensive press coverage.

Not only did we successfully launch the division for self-employed brokers, this division is now about to achieve 400 brokers from a standing start.

We also helped Just Mortgages to launch a new-build division, a client servicing division and this year its wealth company, Just Wealth.

Just Mortgages exceeded its annual target for remortgages by generating £350,000 of income and increased its mortgage lending from £1.2bn to £1.4bn in 2016, and in 2020 topped £3.5bn
