Ben Hollom – Growth and strategy director

What is your role at bClear?

In my role as growth and strategy director I work with our clients to develop broader communications strategies and ensure that all activity and messaging aligns across PR, marketing, internal communications and sales. To ensure everything works together to achieve our clients’ company objectives.

What is your background and experience?

I’ve been a marketing agency owner / MD or head of marketing for over 20 years, working with b2b and b2c client’s as diverse as AXA, Zurich, The FA, SKY, and Nestle.

For the last 12 years I’ve been primarily focused on content strategy and marketing, with clients in the Financial Services and Fintech space globally.

What inspires you?

Being recognised for doing great work and being easy to work with has always been the simple principle that inspires me in my professional life.

I’ve also been really lucky to work alongside some incredibly talented people over the years and learning from those around me – whether they be in my own team, peers, or clients – is always rewarding and inspiring.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

Developing and mentoring the team I manage has always given me a great deal of satisfaction. Seeing someone develop on a professional and sometimes personal level and knowing you played a small part in some way is a great feeling.

It’s a similar feeling with the businesses I’ve worked in. Helping them to be being successful, and retain happy, loyal clients still gives me a buzz.

What do you like to do when you’re not at bClear?

Outside of work you’ll probably find me on the golf course, playing football, or walking our three dogs.

What does this photo mean to you?

The first time my wife and I ever visited New York City was one Christmas. It was bitterly cold (-9) and light snow started falling on the Saturday evening.

We woke up in the morning to a total white-out. The airport was closed, and people were skiing in Central Park. It was really quite magical, although it wrecked our trip up the Empire State Building as the visibility was so poor, we couldn’t see anything!
