By Debbie Staveley CEO at bClear Communications

bClear Communications has announced today that we have appointed Jo Atkin as senior account manager.

Jo has 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry as an editor and journalist as well as working in internal and external communications for top 10 mortgage lender, Yorkshire Building Society.

She was previously a group editor at publisher emap covering three financial services brands – including lender trade title Mortgage Finance Gazette for 14 years. She was also editor of consumer websites whatmortgage.co.uk and themoneypages.com.

This announcement follows on from three new appointments made by bClear in the second half of last year. It takes the size of this ambitious PR agency from three to seven in just six months as bClear continues to take on new clients.

Specialising in financial services, technology, property and construction, bClear has plans to grow at least another 20 per cent in the next twelve months.

We are really pleased that Jo is joining our team and having someone of her calibre join bClear, with her depth of knowledge both of journalism and the mortgage market, will add real value to our clients.

The pandemic and the various lockdowns have really highlighted the need for good PR as a route for companies to get their voices heard and their products and services to market. As a result the demand for good communication has skyrocketed. Having Jo join the team will help us to meet that growing demand.

Commenting on her new role, Jo Atkin, senior account manager at bClear, added: “I’m thrilled to be joining Debbie Staveley and the team as bClear continues to grow. Even in these uncertain times, firms need good PR and I know from my former life as an editor that bClear punches above its weight. I’m looking forward to working with current clients and new ones and can’t wait to get started.”
